Sunshine Skyway Fishing Piers

On both sides of the Skyway Bridge are giant fishing piers. Either of these can be very productive for various species of birds at almost any time. This is an excellent location for an intermediate telephoto lens. The birds here are looking for an easy meal from the fisherman and therefore are very approachable. There is a charge to access the piers. The access roads along the waters edge can also be productive.

Directions: The Skyway Bridge is part of I-275 that allows access between Bradenton and St. Petersburg. There are highly marked exits on either side of the bridge to access the fishing piers.
