Lake Tohopekaliga

The Lakefront Park area of Lake Tohopekaliga in Kissimmee can be a good spot for waders, osprey, snail kites and various other birds. This area is good for morning or afternoon but more of the area favors the afternoon light. The GPS coordinates and directions will point you to the corner of Lakeshore Blvd and Neptune Road. Note the park extends down Lakeshore a mile or so to the municipal boat ramps. The boat ramp area can be a good area too if the fisherman are out.

Please note there is an East Lake Tohopekaliga too. They are not the same lake but both have Lakefront Parks.

There are way more photographic opportunities on Lake Tohopekaliga itself. This is probably one of the best lakes to photograph snail kites. I conduct personalized tours on all the lakes in central Florida, please contact me if interested.

Directions: From US 192 in Kissimmee go to North Main Street / US 92/17 and head south. Make a left on East Drury Rd. continue across the railroad tracks, and keep left. The road will change to Neptune Rd at this point. Continue on Neptune till you reach Lakeshore Blvd on the left. This is only about a half mile from North Main Street
